Cold Planing equipment is available in a variety of sizes from 4 ft mills to half and full lane width and wider sizes
Micro Milling is accomplished by replacing the cutting drum of a conventional mill with 5/8 to 3/4 inch cutting teeth spacing for one with approximately 3/16 inch spacing
Mini-milling machines are available for localized milling around manholes and valves
Cold planers are sized so that the overall weight and available traction are related to the milling width and depth in order to maintain traction
Most cold planers are equipped with automatic grade control systems to accurately control grade and profile of the milled surface
Four foot and above cold planers are front loading so that they can operate and load trucks in one lane and work in the same direction as traffic, allowing for safer operating conditions
Haul Truck
Haul Trucks
To remove the milled material from the roadway to a storage site
Water Trucks
To provide water to cool and extend the life of the cutting teeth
To reduce the amount of dust generated during milling
Power Broom
Sweeper or Power Brooms
The milled surface should be cleaned/swept prior to opening the roadway to traffic
