This figure represents today’s value of the future cost of this treatment, accounting for both inflation and the interest rate. We calculate this to better understand the cumulative savings over time, and account for the time value of money. By turning the future cost of all treatments over the life of a road into present day terms, we’re better able to compare the cost of treatment plans over time.
