Former Navy Seal, JP Dinnell, Set to Keynote the AEMA-ARRA-ISSA Annual Meeting

Coming together for their 16th combined annual meeting, February 18-21, 2019 in Cancun, Mexico, the Asphalt Emulsion Manufacturers Association (AEMA), Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA), and International Slurry Surfacing Association (ISSA) are thrilled to welcome former Navy Seal, Jerimiah “JP” Dinnell as the keynote speaker.

JP Dinnell spent nearly a decade in the SEAL Teams with three combat deployments. In 2006, Dinnell was sent to the Ramadi, Iraq with SEAL Team Three’s Task Unit Bruiser. Opposite of American Sniper, Chris Kyle, in Charlie Platoon, Dinnell served as point man, machine gunner, and lead sniper for Delta Platoon.  Alongside SEAL Officers, Jocko Willink, his Task Unit Commander, and Leif Babin, Dinnell was the driving force behind many daring combat operations.

Upon his return, Dinnell worked with Jocko at the Naval Special Warfare Group Training Detachment as a training instructor. Here, he helped better prepare SEAL units for real-world battlefield by using realistic, challenging, and close quarter combat training. Dinnell also received his Master Trainer Specialist qualification while working with Jocko rebuilding and enhancing these training programs which are they are today.

In addition to JP Dinnell, Program Chairs Todd Ryne, Akzo Nobel Surface Chemistry, LLC, Eric Baker, ROADTEC, Inc, and Larry Tomkins, Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions Inc, have scheduled two industry panel sessions. A moderated Industry Panel Discussion made up of industry association leaders will focus on growing the market for pavement preservation and recycling while an Industry Executive Panel will focus on business challenges in the growing market.

To allow for attendees to enjoy and experience Cancun, most sessions and meetings are scheduled to conclude by mid-afternoon. This year instead of an Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, there will be an Awards Dinner which will include entertainment from the local culture. Lastly, AEMA, ARRA, and ISSA have planned spouse/guest activities which includes a cooking class and guided shopping tour.

Make sure your passport is current and have plenty of sunscreen as this year’s meeting is one that shouldn’t be missed. Registration is scheduled to open in mid-October.
